Today started as normal except I hit the snooze button a couple too many times and was late in getting the family going.
I did manage to give out math assignments (plus the regular stuff) before I left for my scripture class with Kray in tow. Because the person who was supposed to be in the nursery wasn't there I took a turn. It wasn't that bad until the end when the moms started to come and some of the kids noticed it wasn't their mom. Pool little guys just want their mommies.
After that I came home, grabbed a lunch and took the three littles out to movement class. The older kids had vocab and spelling lessons to finish up as well as what they didn't get done while I was gone since they played computer. (Like I knew that wasn't going to happen.)
On the way home I had to grab for my sunglasses so I made an executive decision that when I got home we were going to go for a walk and explore our neighborhood. We spent a good 30 minutes walking (ok, Alex, the dog and I were the only ones walking, the rest were on some sort of wheeled contraption). It was a wonderful walk. The sun was shining and flowers buds were just starting to form. I wished we weren't on a get some exercise type of walk and could have explored a bit more, but I needed to get our history and science in before cub scouts started.
So home we went to learn a bit more about the Mexican-American War (we had to kill Bowie and Davy Crocket today at the Alamo). We also are going to try to put a rock into ice so we can see how something can get stuck in ice and become a fossil. This experiment will take a day or two to accomplish. We also continued our conversation about fossils.
I then pulled another executive decision and we went outside to trim a tree that needed it (still does). We have a beautiful ornamental cherry tree in our front yard that has been neglected for years. My goal is to resurrect it this summer. We did all we could do, fit in the yard waste containers and my back could handle then called it a day.
Not a bad day and got quite a bit accomplished.
