Getting back to a schedule
I'm feeling better so we actually did some school today. Our goal today was to get the school room and play room cleaned up from the Valentine's Day party. I know it was on Friday, but I didn't have any energy to do any housework (or anything for that matter) during the weekend. We got that done pretty quickly in the morning since we all worked together. After that we sat down and talked about our poetry notebooks. We read some of their poems and talked about what was good and bad about each one. We took some notes and then fixed some punctuation. I gave them back their poetry notebooks for them to fix and turn in by the morning.

We talked about what we were going to do next. We are going to continue our General Science unit. We are going to do a short unit on the Mexican American War and then move onto the Civil War. We discussed what major project the kids wanted to do. Of course they don't want to do anything with writing, but I require that they do some major writing. We haven't come to a decision so it is still to be determined.

Chris did an excellent job in his reading. He really is getting a feel for reading. We are making great strides. I hope it just continues as we build his confidence.

All the kids had math assignments. As I was assigning them today, I realized that Kray is 8 lessons from being done with his 8th grade math book. I don't know what I’m going to do. Steve and I need to sit down and talk about it.

All the kids (except Kray and Jessie) had music lessons today.

In all it wasn't a bad day. Hopefully tomorrow's enrichment day will be good too.

Doreen
