Tuesdays are usually very predicable, but today for some reason was the exception.
First, I didn't have a meeting I thought I would have, so the kids didn't have their assignments since the night before I didn't prepare them. By the time I had finished talking with Michele (one of the two people who was supposed to be online for our meeting) I couldn't get them back as they were all over the house doing various assignments (catch up work).
I went to go find a child to see if he could join us and since he was doing his math I left him alone, but my eye caught a messy bedroom with library books that I have been paying overdue fines on for months, so I grabbed a garbage can and the vacuum and got busy. Their room looks great! (Here's hoping it stays that way. I'm a dreamer.)
By this time, the guitar/piano teacher was here for Kray and it was almost time to take Jason to his drum lessons. I just had enough time to get in six phonics books with Chris. He showed GREAT progress in his reading. I am so excited to see him finally having fun and success in reading. That's one of the rewards of homeschooling.
I took Jason to his drum lesson and then went to the library while I waited for his lesson to be done. Unfortunately I didn't get to spend too much time there. There was a major traffic jam in little old down town Redmond. Police were busy doing something on the main street and it took me quite a few minutes to go the two block from the music store to the library. Had it not been raining I would have walked--but then again I knew that I would have a bunch of books to carry home, so I need the car to be close or break my back in getting the load of books to the music store parking lot.
Jessie then had her music class and then we took everyone to their regular Tuesday classes, except Kray and Jason. Their theater class was cancelled because the teacher was sick.
We came home cleaned the house and had dinner. I took Kray to his Order of the Arrow meeting (that’s a special Scout club) but it was cancelled and we didn't get the notice. I think we will end the day by watching a Mexican American War DVD. I was saving it for tomorrow but it is already screwed up and it isn't even Wednesday.
