This morning I got a call from my best friend who is pregnant with child #6 and her youngest three are 5 and under and require a lot of work. She was at her wits end and asked if I would take her kids for the day. Of course I took them as they are lovely children and I could remember what it was like so vividly--just like it was yesterday.

For the afternoon we watched "Good Eats" DVDs or video. We learned about chocolate, hamburger, corn and garlic as well as duck and chicken. It was then time for scouts and soccer.

We ended the day with a chapter from "Uncle Tom's Cabin."
