I find Fridays to be some of the most productive school days even though I usually don't have much planned.

Today we did our spelling test, grammar lesson, talked about our story we are writing (which is late), we got our next science experiment (it will take at least 24 hours for us to see results), and read our couple more chapters in "Uncle Tom's Cabin." The kids are starting to like the book. It has some rich vocabulary that we have to stop every few minutes and look a word up. What a wonderful book! We also started a new math review that will hopefully help Mike with his math facts. Jason and Kray could also a refresher (me too). The kids did their practicing and regular math page. I was going to read with Chris and Jessie, but when I finished what I was doing, they were outside playing and I wasn't going to call them in since they have predicted rain for the next few days, so I will have plenty of time to read with him.

This afternoon we watched another Alamo documentary that was really a good one. I was a bit nervous, but it was fabulous.

We then spent the afternoon cleaning the house as we are just about done with the upstairs and so we can put things back. We also have a dinner tonight at our house.

Kray and Jason helped me make dinner tonight for our LYTTS group. LYTTS is a group of local homeschooling teens who get together every two weeks and have a "party." LYTTS stands for Leading Youth To Tomorrow with Service. Tonight we focused on service to our family by learning about manners. We talked about all sorts of manners that are wonderful to have while you live within a family. We ended by talking about table manners. I served them dinner and we talked about what to do in public when you are eating. We not only tried to give them tools to help them at home be more polite, but also prepare them for when they start dating.

We ended by watching the movie "Sons of Provo." Very cute movie.

It was a very productive day and full of fun.
