Spring Break
If you have been paying attention you will notice that there hasn't been much activity on this blog in two weeks. It hasn't been because we haven't been doing school, but because I have literally dropped dead each night before going to bed.
So what have we been doing? Well, we did take a week off, well, sort of. I had the kids continue with reading and the few science experiments we had going and I would throw in a 15 minute discussion on the human body. We also watched countless slavery documentaries and movies as well as read about a few slaves. But I did put aside the other stuff for two weeks to get a few household things done. I guess you could say we sort of had "spring break."
Of course I didn't get nearly all the things I had been saving for "spring break" and I could use another two weeks of "spring break." I think come Monday morning May 8th we will be back in the swing of things. I will be fighting a hard battle as the weather is so nice and the draw to go outside is hard to resists, it pulls at me too. It continues to rain come Saturday mid day, so it is hard to tell the kids "no" when they ask to go ride bikes or play in the forest in the middle of the day when the sun is warming the earth. To make matters even worse, I bought a new bike and when they ask to go for a bike ride, well I let the text books stay on the shelf, the math papers pile up in the basket and hit the road with my children enjoying spring time in Seattle. When the sun is out you would be hard pressed to find a prettier place. Mt. Rainier pops its head out, tulips and lilacs blanket the air with sweetness and the sun warms our back.
So that is why you haven't heard from us in two weeks.
