Wednesdays are different kind of days for us. I had a scripture class that I get to go to. It is a great escape for a few hours and such a necessity that I gladly suffer the loss of a great morning. I always bring one of my teens with me as they are helpers in the nursery. I count that as school as I require service to be performed.
When we got back into the car I noticed that my friend who teaches my kids movement classes called. I called her back and we decided to cancel class for the day. So I went grocery shopping. When I got home from shopping, I found exactly what I found; a messy house and kids' homework not done.
We spent a few minutes picking things up and putting the groceries away. We then had lunch and watched a short movie on Harriet Tubman. We talked a little bit about Harriet and the Underground Railroad. It was a very interesting discussion.
It was time to take kids to scouts and then soccer. Today we didn't get home until 8:00 and had a quick dinner. I was going to have the kids watch the second episode of Roots, but I'm too tired and Steve was actually home tonight. Maybe tomorrow night we will get the second part in.
The kids are really enjoying the movie Roots and it has spurred some discussion. For the record, only my oldest three are watching Roots and with my finger on the pause button so we can stop and discuss what is going on.
